The Niagara Street project is a significant investment in Buffalo’s transportation infrastructure, improving safety and providing a transportation system that is inclusive of all users including persons with disabilities, pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and transit riders. Stoss worked with Watts Architecture and Engineering to create a landscape plan that allows Niagara Street to become a lively, vibrant, and safe corridor that attracts residents and businesses, catalyzes investment, and generates activity.

The goals for the plan include incorporating responsible stormwater management elements that increase infiltration, support vegetation, and reduce stormwater runoff and pollution as well as amplifying the aesthetic appeal and attractiveness of the streetscape with plantings, lighting, wayfinding, educational signage, and public art.
